What is FiveSok?

FiveSok is an online marketplace that connects buyers to sellers of small scale services such as graphic designing, art work, web development, etc. All services posted on FiveSok range from 500 Shillings up to 5,000 Shillings.

 

Why should I use FiveSok?

FiveSok is the most convenient place to find services because we have organized unique and inexpensive services from almost every field. Whenever you pay using the platform, we hold your money until the expert has delivered the job. As an expert, FiveSok gives you an avenue to conveniently find clients and earn an income through selling your services.

 

How do I buy a service?

After identifying the particular service that interests you, first contact the seller to check on their availability. Once you have an agreement, click ‘Purchase Now’ from the job page, and complete the payment using mobile money, credit card or debit card. We will safely hold your money until the service has been delivered.

 

How do I request for a service?

You can do so by simply clicking ‘Request for a service’ from the menu, and then filling out the form to describe the particular details of the service that you are seeking

 

How can I sell a service?

It is simple. Simply register/ login, and then click ‘Post Service’ from the main menu. You will be required to fill out a simple form describing your service, which FiveSok will first have to verify and approve before publishing on the site.

 

How do I top up my account?

You can do this by visiting the ‘Top up’ section in your account, and then completing the payment either by Mpesa, Airtel Money, and credit or debit card.

 

How do I know that the expert will do the job?

Whenever you pay using the platform, we hold your money until the service is completed and delivered, before releasing it to the seller. If the job is not done, you can easily cancel the service and reclaim your money.

 

What happens if the job is not done?

If the job is past the due date and the seller has not delivered, you can cancel it by clicking ‘cancel job’ from your account. You will be credited with the amount that you had initially paid.

 

How do I confirm delivery of a service?

Confirming delivery allows FiveSok to process the seller’s payment. You can do this by identifying the job under ‘My Purchases’ in your account, and then click ‘confirm delivery’.

 

How do I cancel a service?

You can request for a cancellation by identifying the job under ‘My Purchases’ (or under ‘My Sales’ for sellers), and then click on ‘request for a cancellation’. The seller/buyer has to accept this request before your account is credited with the amount. Late cancellations may incur charges.

 

What happens if the expert does not accept a request for mutual cancellation?

You can send them a message explaining that you want to cancel the service. If the seller fails to respond after the job due date, you will see a button under ‘My Purchases’ (or under ‘My Sales’ for sellers) that allows you to cancel the job. Your account will automatically be credited with the amount. To avoid any inconveniences for the other user, all requests for mutual cancellation should be made as early as possible, late cancellations may incur charges.

 

What happens if the job is not as I requested?

Always remember to give the seller clear instructions before purchasing the service. You can also request the seller to send you a sample before the final delivery so that you can make corrections if necessary. In case of a dispute, the terms for dispute resolution from the terms of use will be implemented.

 

How does the seller get paid?

After the buyer and seller both confirm delivery, the seller’s account will be credited with the amount, which can then be optionally withdrawn.

 

How can the expert deliver a service?

Depending on the nature of the service, there can be various modes of delivery.

  • The FiveSok messaging system allows for exchange of files and attachments. This can be used as a delivery for virtual jobs such as reports or graphic designs
  • The seller can offer to deliver physical products such as art work for an additional fee, or the buyer may opt to pick it up from a particular location
  • Jobs that require human interaction may require the seller to visit the proposed job location, which can also be agreed upon beforehand

Note: After delivering a service, the seller has to mark it as delivered under ‘My Sales’ in their account. The buyer also has to visit their account and mark the job as ‘complete’ under ‘My Purchases’.

 

How do I withdraw money from my account?

You can do this by visiting ‘My Transactions’ in your account, and then clicking the ‘Withdraw’ tab. Processing the money generally takes just a few minutes, however please allow up to 12 hours in case of a rare delay.

 

How much commission does FiveSok charge?

Commission charges are 15% of successfully delivered services.

 

How long does it take before I get my withdrawal?

In most cases, it takes just a few minutes, however please allow up to 12 hours in case of a rare delay.

 

What happens if the buyer does not confirm delivery?

The job will be automatically marked as complete after 5 days and the seller will receive their payment.

 

How can the expert send a preview?

Previews enable the buyer to verify the job and make any corrections if necessary. They can be sent in forms such as:

  • A photo of the accomplishment, which can be used for solid and tangible products such as artwork
  • A screenshot of the accomplishment, which can be used for virtual jobs such as graphic designs and logos
  • A report explaining the accomplishment. This can be used for detailed jobs such as online marketing campaigns
